1. What Sumetrolim is and what it is used for
Sumetrolim contains a sulfonamide-trimethoprim combination that has antimicrobial effects.
The administration of Sumetrolim is indicated in infections caused by pathogenic germs sensitive to this drug.

 Respiratory tract infections: bronchitis , sinusitis, middle ear infections , some types of
pneumonia,
 Gastrointestinal infections : inflammatory bowel disease , traveler’s diarrhea , typhus
abdominal,
 Urinary tract and kidney infections : acute cystitis,
 Genital infections : pelvic inflammatory disease in women , some types of urethritis
 Skin infections : boils (purulent inflamed abscess at the hair follicle level) , abscesses,
infected lesions.
2. What you need to know before you use Sumetrolim
Do not use Sumetrolim
– if you are allergic to sulfamethoxazole or trimethoprim or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

– if you have had allergic reactions to sulfonamide derivatives and compounds with a chemical structure in the past
similar (these include some anti-infectives, sulphonylureas and antidiabetic medicines)

– if you have hematological disorders, folic acid deficiency anemia , deficiency of certain proteins

– if you have severe kidney failure (except if you are undergoing dialysis sessions)
– during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
BOYS
In children under 6 years of age, the use of Sumetrolim syrup is recommended.
Under the age of 3 months it can be used exclusively under strict prescription depending on individual needs.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Sumetrolim .
Life-threatening skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome,
toxic epidermal necrolysis) after the use of Sumetrolim, which initially appeared as spots
well-defined red or circular spots often with blisters in the center. In addition, there may be
signs including ulcers in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals and conjunctivitis (red eyes)
red and swollen).
This potentially life-threatening skin rash is often associated with symptoms
flu-like. The rash may spread over the entire body in the form of blisters or
peeling of the skin. The greatest risk of these serious skin reactions is in the first few
weeks of treatment. If you develop Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis
